Youth in Transition

Youth in Transition is an employment program for unemployed and underemployed youth under 30 years of age. Delivered by the YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford and funded by the Government of Canada.

There are 50 placements available per year within the City of Hamilton (for youth 15-30). Participants undergo three weeks (90 hours) of pre-employment workshops prior to the start of the placement. Participants are paid by the YMCA for their workshop activities, and benefit further through ongoing monitoring and case management.

For more information on how to register, please call 905.317.4934

Youth in Transition participants made the local paper! Check it out below.

Career Advice

Our counsellors cover a large geographic area and are on call to dispense free career advice for job seekers. Whether you drop in to one of our centres or you arrange for a detailed, one-on-one appointment, rest assured you will be treated fairly and with respect. We listen to your aspirations rather than opposing our own. We are funded by different levels of government to offer programs and services that aim to improve the way of life of individuals and our collective labour markets.

We sometimes host live workshops on this site. View the workshops tab at any time for upcoming live workshops.
