YMCA Rocks!
The Uprising Music Scene in Burlington!
As time goes by, the quaint lakeside city of Burlington holding a little over 170 thousand people is continuing to gain the recognition deserved for having produced so many talented musicians. Such greats as Finger 11, Idle Sons (Slurpy Mundae), Grade, and Jersey, Burlington has been a key contributor to the popular music scene supported worldwide. Newcomers such as Silverstein, The Fullblast and Boys Night Out assure listeners and scene enthusiasts that the trend for producing talented popular bands will continue here in Burlington.
The Support of the YMCA
With the YMCA behind this unique program allows for so many others to benefit from each and every show. For example, all proceeds from a show go directly to charity. Since March of 2000, there has been over $21,000 donated to various charities worldwide. As the program continues to develop, even more money is being raised and donated to be able to give back to the community. Secondly, shows are being presented to the youth in a controlled, safe, drug and alcohol free environment. This allows for people of all ages to get involved and focus on the most important element at hand, the music.
